UNY Holds Monitoring Meeting: Master’s Psychology Focuses on Participation and Teaching Innovation

Yogyakarta, 14 April 2023 – The Master’s Psychology Study Program held a Follow-Up Monitoring Meeting (RMHTL) for Evaluation and Monitoring (E-Monev). Led by Dr. Siti Rohmah Nurhayati and attended by 18 participants, the meeting forms part of the academic quality-assurance cycle to improve graduate-level teaching and services.

Student participation in E-Monev was high in the odd semester (average 92.82%) but dipped in the even semester (81.64%). The program targets 100% participation via automated reminders, integration with the academic system (DHS), and intensive outreach by academic advisors.

Lecture quality was rated “very high” (avg. 4.36–4.66), particularly for clarity of objectives, content relevance, and lecturer mastery. Areas for improvement include time effectiveness, assignment variety, and technology use. Planned actions include a teaching-innovation workshop, LMS optimization, and interactive media.

Thesis supervision quality was also “very high” early in the semester (avg. 4.24–4.45) but dipped at the end (avg. 4.09–4.21), with issues in administration, scheduling, and program-level monitoring. Solutions include optimizing the SiBimTA digital system, hosting supervision-evaluation forums, and strengthening communication between students and supervisors.

Overall, academic quality in 2022 was very good, with follow-ups focusing on sustained participation, teaching innovation, and stronger supervision management.

RMHTL 2024 Briefing: Strengthening Teaching Quality and Thesis Supervision in Master’s Psychology

Yogyakarta, 22 March 2024 – Chaired by Dr. Rosita Endang Kusmaryani and attended by 11 participants, the meeting highlighted that overall teaching quality is good, especially the clarity of learning media. Evaluations, however, indicate the need to diversify media use to better support learning. “We will continue supervision and regular monitoring to ensure the media used meets student needs,” Dr. Rosita emphasized.

Discussion also addressed thesis supervision challenges, particularly documentation, meeting frequency, and progress tracking. The program will optimize SiBimTA (Thesis Supervision System) through outreach for lecturers and students, plus tighter program-level monitoring. “SiBimTA must become the primary instrument for orderly supervision; with full utilization, thesis completion quality will improve,” she added.

The program reaffirmed its commitment to continuous monitoring, teaching innovation, and service optimization in line with UNY’s vision to graduate competent and ethical professionals.

E-Monev Report – Master’s Psychology: Teaching Quality Rated “Very Good”; Student Participation Reaches 98 Percent

Yogyakarta – The Master’s Psychology Study Program at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta recorded positive results in Evaluation and Monitoring (E-Monev) for the odd and even semesters of AY 2022/2023. The Quality Assurance Team’s report showed that lecturer teaching quality, student participation, and thesis supervision were all in the “very high” category, though several aspects still merit strengthening.

In the odd semester, student participation averaged 92.82%, rising from 87.70% at the start to 97.94% at the end. In the even semester, participation was 81.64% at the start, indicating effective outreach, though not yet full engagement.

Students rated clarity of course objectives, relevance to graduate competencies, and alignment with the RPS (course plan) very highly. Early-semester averages were 4.36–4.51, increasing to 4.47–4.58 by the end of the odd semester—evidence of consistent, strong teaching quality.

Top indicators included lecturer mastery, alignment with the RPS, and responsiveness to student questions. Nonetheless, time effectiveness, variety of methods, and media innovation still need improvement.

For thesis supervision, support from supervisors was rated “very good,” with averages of 4.19–4.64. Lecturers provided meticulous revision feedback, helped students access up-to-date literature, and consistently guided them to avoid plagiarism. Administrative aspects—supervision documentation, scheduling, and program monitoring—require improvement, as their scores were relatively lower (though still high).

Recommended strategies include driving participation toward 100%, diversifying methods and teaching innovations, and developing a more structured digital supervision-administration system. Program-level monitoring through regular evaluation forums should also be strengthened so supervision quality remains consistent.

With these outcomes, the Master’s Psychology Program at UNY is optimistic about further improving teaching quality and strengthening graduate competitiveness—producing professional psychologists who are ethical, resilient, and responsive to societal needs.
