Policy Presentation and Orientation
The Dean of the Faculty of Psychology UNY presented faculty policies related to the management of student organizations (Ormawa). This presentation emphasized the importance of healthy, ethical, and impactful student organizations as a means of developing leadership, responsibility, and academic character among psychology students.
Student organizations are understood as social systems that have structures, values, goals, and interrelated relationships that influence one another. Therefore, a healthy Ormawa is characterized by clear objectives, transparent division of roles, consistently applied norms, and positive and collaborative relationships among members. Ormawa must also be ethical and impactful. Ethics serve as the foundation for every decision-making process, reflected through integrity, honesty, fairness, and accountability in program and financial management. Impactful Ormawa do not stop at ceremonial activities but are able to provide real benefits—both for the development of members’ competencies, character, and leadership (internal impact), and for society and institutions (external impact). Ormawa of the Faculty of Psychology UNY is expected to become a continuous learning space, in line with the faculty’s vision of nurturing individuals who are excellent, humanistic, and of strong character.
The activity continued with the socialization of procedures for submitting activity proposals, including response mechanisms, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and organizational rules and ethics within the campus environment, delivered by the Head of Administration of the Faculty of Psychology UNY, Mr. Supriyono, S.IP., M.Or. This session aimed to ensure that all Ormawa officers understand administrative flows and activity governance in an orderly and accountable manner. In addition, students also received an explanation of procedures for submitting and managing student organization finances (KOK) as well as financial and activity accountability reports (SPJ), delivered by the Treasurer of the Faculty of Psychology UNY, Mr. Lanang Prasaja, S.Kom., M.Pd. As part of strengthening organizational capacity, the event also included a session on Organizational Conflict Management, delivered by the Ormawa Academic Advisor, Ms. Eva Rahman, M.Psi., Psychologist. This material equipped Ormawa officers with skills to manage internal organizational dynamics in a healthy and constructive way.
Through this inauguration and orientation, the Faculty of Psychology UNY hopes that all Ormawa officers for the 2025/2026 period will be able to carry out their roles professionally, with integrity, and become strategic partners of the faculty in supporting the development of students’ academic and non-academic achievements. This inauguration marks the first step for student organizations of the Faculty of Psychology UNY to actively contribute to creating a healthy, collaborative, and character-based academic climate.
