International Collaboration: Faculty of Psychology UNY and UPSI Sign MoA to Strengthen Research and Academic Partnerships

Selangor, Malaysia – The Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (FP UNY), expanded its international network by establishing an academic partnership with the Faculty of Human Development, Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI). The signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) and Implementation Arrangement (IA) took place on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at Concorde Hotel, Selangor, Malaysia.

The meeting began with welcoming remarks from Associate Professor Dr. Hazalizah Binti Hamzah, representing the Faculty of Human Development, UPSI. This was followed by a presentation from Dr. Rosita Endang Kusmaryani, M.Si., Vice Dean for Planning, General Affairs, and Finance of FP UNY, who introduced the Faculty of Psychology UNY and conveyed the vision for cross-country academic collaboration.

The core of the meeting was an academic discussion, where faculty members from FP UNY and UPSI exchanged research topics and explored opportunities for collaborative studies in psychology. This exchange of ideas opened pathways for synergy between the two institutions, particularly in developing research agendas relevant to contemporary psychological issues.

The FP UNY delegation was led by Dr. Rosita Endang Kusmaryani, M.Si., accompanied by Dr. Kartika Nur Fathiyah, M.Si. (Head of Undergraduate Psychology Program), Dr. Farida Harahap, M.Si., Dyah Ayu Purwaniningtyas, M.A., Annisa Nur Harwiningtyas, M.Psi., Dinarista Yulisa Ediputri, M.Psi., Rilis Asterina, M.Psi., and R. Mahendra Wijaya Santoso, M.Psi. Meanwhile, UPSI was represented by Associate Professor Dr. Hazalizah Binti Hamzah, Dr. Fatanah Binti Ramlee, and Dr. Priyalatha A/P Govindasamy.

This collaboration goes beyond formal documents. In the near future, a Visiting Professor program will be implemented in September 2025, during which UPSI lecturers are scheduled to visit FP UNY to deliver lectures, engage in curriculum development discussions, and contribute to academic activities.

This strategic partnership between FP UNY and UPSI is expected to strengthen collaborative research, open opportunities for faculty and student exchanges, and support the advancement of psychological sciences at the international level.
