Faculty of Psychology UNY Holds Spiritual Character Strengthening Event in the Spirit of Ramadan Togetherness 2026

Yogyakarta, March 5, 2026 – The Faculty of Psychology at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) organized a Spiritual Character Strengthening in the Spirit of Ramadan Togetherness 2026 event on Thursday (March 5, 2026) at the Pendopo of Al Qalam Mosque, Faculty of Education (FIP) UNY. The event, which began at 4:30 PM WIB, was attended by members of the academic community of the Faculty of Psychology, including lecturers, administrative staff, and student representatives from BEM Faculty of Psychology UNY and various Student Activity Units (UKM) within the Faculty of Psychology. The program concluded with a communal iftar (breaking of the fast).

This activity was organized as an effort to strengthen spiritual values and foster a sense of togetherness within the academic community of the Faculty of Psychology UNY during the holy month of Ramadan. In addition to serving as a space for spiritual reflection, the event also became a meaningful opportunity to strengthen relationships among lecturers, administrative staff, and students. The program began with opening remarks from the Dean of the Faculty of Psychology UNY, Siti Rohmah Nurhayati, M.Si., Psychologist, who highlighted that Ramadan provides a meaningful moment to strengthen spiritual values while nurturing solidarity within the academic environment. She also expressed her appreciation for the active participation of all members of the academic community who attended the event.

The event continued with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an by Ramzie Dwiki Firnanda, a 2024 undergraduate student from the Psychology Study Program. The recitation created a solemn and reflective atmosphere before entering the main religious lecture session. During the main session, the participants attended a religious lecture delivered by Edy Musoffa, S.Ag., M.Si. In his sermon, he emphasized the importance of developing strong spiritual character in everyday life, particularly for members of the academic community who are expected not only to possess intellectual excellence but also to maintain balance in spiritual and moral aspects.

Through this session, participants were encouraged to reflect on Ramadan as a valuable opportunity to improve the quality of their worship, engage in self-improvement, and strengthen values of kindness both in personal life and within the academic community. The event concluded with a communal iftar held in a warm and friendly atmosphere. The menu included meatball soup (bakso) and a variety of traditional angkringan dishes, which further enhanced the sense of togetherness among lecturers, administrative staff, and students present. Through this event, the Faculty of Psychology UNY hopes that the momentum of Ramadan will not only encourage personal spiritual growth but also strengthen the values of togetherness, spirituality, and collegiality within the academic community.
