Visiting Professor Program Concludes with Curriculum Review for Undergraduate, Master's, and Prospective Doctoral Psychology Programs

Yogyakarta – The Visiting Professor Program at the Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), concluded with a Curriculum Review Discussion involving the Undergraduate Psychology Program, the Master's Program in Psychology, and the proposed Doctoral (Ph.D.) Program in Psychology. Held on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Meeting Room 1, Faculty of Education (FIP) UNY, the session featured Dr. Marieke de Vries from Utrecht University, the Netherlands, as an international academic reviewer and discussion partner.

The discussion began with curriculum presentations delivered by the Head of the Undergraduate Psychology Program, the Head of the Master's Program in Psychology, and the prospective Head of the Doctoral Psychology Program. Each presenter outlined the curriculum structure, program learning outcomes, graduate profiles, course mapping, and future directions for curriculum development in response to emerging trends in psychology and higher education.

During the discussion, Dr. de Vries provided valuable insights into developing curricula that are responsive to advances in psychological science, societal needs, and international higher education standards. She emphasized the importance of ensuring alignment between learning outcomes, teaching and learning strategies, assessment methods, and students' learning experiences to produce graduates with strong academic, professional, and research competencies.

The discussion also explored ways to strengthen research methodology training, research-based learning, international collaboration, and the integration of twenty-first-century competencies throughout the curriculum.
