The ceremony was attended by 24 graduates, comprising 15 students from the Bachelor’s Program in Psychology and 9 students from the Master’s Program in Psychology, who had completed their studies in accordance with the university’s academic requirements. The graduation ceremony marked an important milestone in the graduates’ academic journeys and celebrated their achievements after completing various learning activities, research projects, and academic responsibilities throughout their studies. The event also served as an expression of the faculty’s appreciation for the graduates’ dedication, perseverance, and commitment to completing their higher education in psychology. Through this ceremony, FP UNY hopes that its graduates will apply the knowledge, skills, and academic values they have acquired to make meaningful contributions to society and the professional world.
The ceremony began with a rehearsal to ensure that all participants and organizing committees were prepared for the event, followed by the opening session. The program continued with a graduation report delivered by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, Alumni, and Cooperation (AKARK), presenting information related to the implementation of the October 2026 graduation ceremony. This was followed by the reading of the Dean’s Decree, which formally established the graduates’ academic status. The main session then proceeded with the official graduation announcement conducted by the Dean of the Faculty of Psychology UNY. Subsequently, the Dean presented graduation decrees to all participating graduates as formal recognition of their successful completion of their respective academic programs. The ceremony continued with an address by the Dean and concluded with the closing session.
The October 2026 Graduation Ceremony also reflects UNY’s commitment to supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, which emphasizes inclusive and equitable quality education and lifelong learning opportunities for all. Through higher education, FP UNY strives to equip students with scientific knowledge and relevant competencies to address emerging challenges and respond to the evolving needs of society. Furthermore, the event contributes to SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth by preparing graduates to enter the workforce professionally and contribute to productivity across various sectors. The psychological knowledge and competencies acquired throughout their studies are expected to support human resource development, promote individual well-being, and foster healthier social and professional environments. Therefore, the graduation ceremony represents not only the successful completion of an academic journey but also part of the broader contribution of higher education to producing competent, ethical, and socially responsible graduates who are ready to support sustainable development.
