Faculty of Psychology UNY Holds Thesis and Final Project Monitoring for Undergraduate and Master’s Students

Yogyakarta, October 26, 2026 – The Faculty of Psychology at Yogyakarta State University (FP UNY) held a Thesis and Final Project Monitoring Program on Monday, October 26, 2026, involving approximately 70 students from the Bachelor’s (S1) and Master’s (S2) Programs in Psychology. The activity took place in the Hall on the 7th Floor of the Faculty of Psychology Building as part of the faculty’s efforts to support students in completing their final projects in a structured and timely manner. The event began with an opening session from approximately 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Western Indonesia Time (WIB), followed by independent work sessions in designated areas throughout the Faculty of Psychology building. Through this initiative, students were encouraged to use the campus environment as a conducive space for academic work while maintaining progress on their final projects. The program is expected to help students establish consistent work habits and make steady progress toward completing their studies.
One of the main objectives of this program is to improve students’ access to their academic supervisors throughout the final project process. By working directly on campus, students can more easily consult their supervisors when encountering difficulties, seeking guidance on research methods, or requiring feedback on academic writing and data analysis. This accessibility is expected to help resolve academic challenges more quickly, reducing delays that may occur when separate meetings need to be arranged. In addition, working independently within the faculty provides students with an opportunity to manage their time more effectively, maintain focus, and work toward their individual completion targets. Therefore, the monitoring program serves not only as a means of tracking final project progress but also as an academic support initiative designed to make the supervision process more efficient and effective.
The Thesis and Final Project Monitoring Program reflects FP UNY’s commitment to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, by fostering an academic environment that supports students’ successful completion of higher education. Academic guidance and accessible supervision are important elements in facilitating learning, strengthening research competencies, and helping students complete their studies successfully. This initiative also reflects the faculty’s efforts to promote a productive, collaborative, and goal-oriented academic culture. By conducting monitoring activities directly on campus, FP UNY hopes that undergraduate and master’s students will make greater progress on their final projects, address research-related challenges more efficiently, and complete their studies according to their planned timelines. This initiative forms part of the faculty’s ongoing commitment to improving academic services and supporting student success at every level of higher education.
