Faculty of Psychology UNY and the Indonesian Navy Psychology Service Sign Cooperation Agreement

The Faculty of Psychology at Yogyakarta State University (FP UNY) signed a Cooperation Agreement (Perjanjian Kerja Sama or PKS) with the Indonesian Navy Psychology Service on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at the Dean’s Meeting Room on the 3rd Floor of the Faculty of Psychology Building. The agreement forms part of the faculty’s efforts to expand students’ learning opportunities through partnerships with professional institutions. One of the key areas of cooperation is the provision of internship opportunities for undergraduate Psychology students at the Indonesian Navy Psychology Service. Through this program, students are expected to gain first-hand exposure to a professional working environment and obtain experience relevant to the field of psychology.
The internship program is expected to help students connect the theoretical knowledge acquired during their studies with its practical application in the workplace. This experience may help students understand the role of psychology in a military institutional context, recognize professional needs in the field, and develop skills relevant to their future careers. In addition, exposure to a professional environment is expected to encourage the development of competencies, discipline, and responsibility in carrying out work-related tasks. The partnership also provides opportunities for knowledge exchange between the academic community and psychology practitioners within the scope agreed upon by both institutions.

The signing of this Cooperation Agreement aligns with the Faculty of Psychology UNY’s support for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals. Through internship opportunities, students are expected to gain valuable learning experiences that strengthen their competencies and prepare them for professional careers. Meanwhile, the partnership between FP UNY and the Indonesian Navy Psychology Service highlights the importance of institutional collaboration in supporting education and human resource development. The Faculty of Psychology UNY hopes that this cooperation will benefit students and provide a foundation for future joint activities that address the needs of both institutions.
