Banjaroyo, June 18, 2026 – The Student Executive Board (BEM KM) of the Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), officially inaugurated its Program Penguatan Kapasitas Organisasi Kemahasiswaan (PPK Ormawa; Student Organization Capacity Strengthening Program) through a Grand Opening ceremony held at the Banjaroyo Village Office, Kalibawang District, Kulon Progo Regency, on Thursday (June 18). The event marked the commencement of the four-month community engagement program.

The ceremony was attended by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Alumni of the Faculty of Psychology, UNY; the faculty advisor; the Head of Banjaroyo Village; representatives of village hamlet leaders from the program’s target areas; community health volunteers (Posyandu and health cadres); and the principals of SDN Tanjung and SDN Kempong. The participation of these stakeholders reflected a strong commitment and collaborative partnership among the university, the village government, and the local community in supporting the successful implementation of the program.

The event began with the singing of the Indonesian national anthem, Indonesia Raya, followed by welcoming remarks from representatives of the Faculty of Psychology and the Banjaroyo Village Government. As a symbolic gesture marking the official launch of the program, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was conducted by the Head of Banjaroyo Village together with distinguished guests. This ceremony formally signified the commencement of the PPK Ormawa program in Banjaroyo Village.

Following the opening ceremony, the PPK Ormawa team presented the series of community development programs that will be implemented throughout the four-month service period. The event continued with an interactive discussion involving community members and health volunteers to establish effective communication, strengthen collaboration, and develop a shared understanding regarding the implementation of the planned activities. The ceremony concluded with a group photo session.

Through this Grand Opening, the PPK Ormawa team of the Student Executive Board of the Faculty of Psychology, UNY, aims to strengthen partnerships with the local community and all collaborating stakeholders. Such collaboration is expected to ensure that every program is implemented effectively and provides sustainable benefits for the residents of Banjaroyo Village.

In the coming months, the PPK Ormawa team will carry out the planned activities by actively engaging community members, health volunteers, and village officials throughout the implementation process. Continuous coordination with the faculty advisor, the university, and the Banjaroyo Village Government will also be maintained to ensure that the programs remain responsive to local community needs and generate meaningful and sustainable impacts for Banjaroyo Village.
