Yogyakarta – The Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), held a Workshop on Best Practices in Quality Assurance and Faculty Administrative Governance on Monday, October 26, 2026. The event took place at 10:00 a.m. (Western Indonesian Time) in Meeting Room 2, on the third floor of the Faculty of Psychology building. The workshop was organized as part of the faculty's efforts to strengthen its quality assurance system and improve the effectiveness of administrative governance.

The workshop featured two speakers from the Faculty of Engineering (FT) UNY: Dr. Dra. Umi Rochayati, M.T., Head of the Faculty of Engineering Quality Assurance Unit, and Winda Sari Fitriani, S.Pd., T., M.Pd., Administrative Staff of the Faculty of Engineering Quality Assurance Unit. Their participation provided an opportunity for the Faculty of Psychology to gain insights and exchange experiences regarding quality assurance implementation and faculty administrative management based on established practices within the Faculty of Engineering.

The discussions highlighted the importance of quality assurance as an integral component of higher education management. Quality assurance involves more than fulfilling documentation and administrative requirements; it also encompasses evaluation, monitoring, and continuous improvement across academic and non-academic activities. Therefore, an effective quality assurance system requires well-organized, systematic, properly documented, and accountable administrative processes.

Through the speakers' presentations, participants gained insights into the experiences and practices of managing a faculty quality assurance unit. Particular attention was given to the coordination between quality assurance personnel and administrative staff in supporting the implementation of institutional quality systems. Administrative management plays an important role in ensuring that procedures are properly implemented, documentation is maintained, and evaluation processes are followed by appropriate actions. The exchange of experiences between faculties is expected to provide valuable references for identifying practices that can be further developed and implemented according to the needs of the Faculty of Psychology UNY.

The workshop also demonstrated the importance of collaboration and institutional learning across faculties within the university. Good practices implemented by one faculty can serve as valuable references for other faculties in developing more effective and adaptive governance systems. Through this knowledge-sharing initiative, the Faculty of Psychology UNY seeks to foster a quality culture that goes beyond meeting established standards and focuses on improving institutional services and organizational effectiveness.

This initiative aligns with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education, particularly by supporting improvements in higher education quality through stronger institutional quality assurance and governance systems. It also contributes to SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, by promoting effective, transparent, and accountable institutional governance supported by well-managed administrative processes. Furthermore, the exchange of knowledge and experiences between faculties reflects the spirit of SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, emphasizing collaboration as an important approach to achieving sustainable institutional development.

Through this workshop, the Faculty of Psychology UNY is expected to further strengthen an integrated quality assurance system supported by effective administrative governance. The knowledge and insights gained from this activity are expected to contribute to better institutional services, a stronger culture of evaluation and continuous improvement, and the development of more professional and accountable faculty governance.
